Currently, most Functional Medicine services are not fully covered by health insurance so Heal 2 Wellness does not accept health insurance. Botulinum toxins work by relaxing or reducing muscle strength under the skin to improve age lines. Dermal fillers are used to replace or add volume in areas of the face that may have age related volume depletion or need augmenting for facial balancing. Botulinum toxins help to improve age lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles under the skin and dermal fillers help to restore youthful contours by adding volume under the skin.

Botox: Typically lasts 3–4 months Fillers: Depending on the area and product used, results last 6–18 months

For botulinum toxins, improvements can begin within 7 days with full result within 2-4 weeks and results may last approximately 3 months. Dermal filler treatment results are noticeable on the same day of treatment, but the final result may take approximately 2-4 weeks as treatment related inflammation subsides, and the product integrates into your tissue. Dermal filler results can last from 9 months to 2 years depending on the product used and product placement. Chemical Peels require approximately 7 days to complete the resurfacing process with improvements showing thereafter. In some cases a 3-Peel series may be recommended to achieve the desired results. For functional medicine care, improvements can occur within the first 30 days of treatment, but the most substantial changes typically occur after 90 days because that gives your body time to remove exposures (i.e. parasites), replace helpful gut flora, repair body systems, rebalance nutrition/hormones, and restore optimal function.

Injectable aesthetic medications such as botulinum toxins and dermal fillers are not FDA approved or recommended for use while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Some possible signs of infection or complications after treatment include worsening redness or discoloration, increased swelling, pain, warmth, fevers, and rash among others. If you notice any other symptoms that make you uncomfortable after your treatment, it is important to contact your treatment provider immediately for further assessment.

In some cases, it is safe and appropriate to have more than one type of treatment in a single visit, but in some cases it is not. Your treatment provider is able to tell you what treatments are safe to have concurrently during your consultation.
